yoga Instructor

When Chrissy began her yoga practice as a teenage athlete, she had no idea how significant yoga would become in her life. Her practice grew over time, and in late 2006, at the suggestion of her teacher, she enrolled in the 230 hour R.Y.T. study program at The Yoga Center of Minneapolis. Upon completion, she began experiencing yoga in a completely new way as a teacher. Chrissy continues her studies through extensive reading, workshops and trainings. In June 2008, she completed Ashtanga Teacher Training with Manju Jois at the Chicago Yoga Center.

With love and respect for tradition, an open mind, and a quick laugh, she finds her relationship with the world transforming through the eight limbs of yoga.

Jacob is a martial arts enthusiast and served five and a half years in the Army, including 2 tours in Iraq and a peace keeping mission in the Upper Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. As a Sergeant, he ran group physical training 4 times a week. After completing his service, Jacob knew that being a personal trainer was the perfect way to combine his experience and passion for physical fitness, which is further expressed in his focus on core strength and total body fitness.

A National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified trainer, Jacob has been actively involved in sports, martial arts and "just being a gym rat" for as long as he can remember.

Yoga has been a big part of Shar’s life for over 15 years. She began       practicing to help deal with the stress of everyday work life and              wanted to share the benefits with others. Leaving the corporate              world, Shar received her 200 RYT-Hatha from Yoga Yoga in Texas.         Since then, she has taught  a variety of classes, held workshops for        athletic teams, private sessions, corporate retreats as well as                                                     volunteering her yoga. Aside from teaching, she continues with advanced studies including pranayama, prenatal and postnatal yoga, vinyasa flow, yoga for emotional health and special populations (cancer, cardiac, obesity).

When not studying and teaching yoga Shar enjoys the opera, theater, and hiking and is also a huge sports fan.
